The Coach - Bob Kelly
Bob Kelly is a long standing respected coach and is actively involved in the development of young athletes in the achievement of their sporting goals. Some of these athletes could be Olympians someday. Bob competed in his first triathlon 25 years ago and continues to race today. He has represented Australia in three sports including being part of the Australian team competing in triathlon world championships in four consecutive years from 1998.
To the athletes - whilst you train and compete hard, you must strive to maintain the balance between study, family, health, saftey and performance. Follow this basic rule and I assure you - results will follow!! - BOB

Update from Bob Kelly - 31/7/08
The Triathletes wound down the competition season around the first week in April, during the next 4 – 6 weeks they had their rest period. While not actually taking a rest the athletes were cross training with rollerblading – mountain biking – surfing and sorting out their gym program in regard to core strength and free weights. Through May – June – July and August we will gradually increase their training in regard to distance – volume and intensity in all 3 sports. The cyclists in March were finishing up the criterium season, which we had many great results with Ben – Dan – and Ollie winning several “B” grade. This is great results given they are boys of 1 – 2years experience against men of several years of riding behind them. Another good sign that the group was going in the right direction was that Bec Domange and Matt Fortunato were promoted into this grade and by the end of the season were either winning 1st lady or helping out with the team lead out. We have moved into the road season from the end of April with many good results with the kids. It was great to welcome 2 new members to the group in Jamie Meyer and Jamie Blaker. They are into triathlon and cycling respectively and both have made big gains since joining the group. We are looking forward to several big events that the team will be at. Included are Victorian senior and junior cycling (August), Victorian triathlon season (November – March), Bay Crit series (January), Australian cycling championships (late January) and several athletes will be doing the races from selection in the Australian triathlon team (December – March). Lastly we will welcome back Clare from her professional contract in USA on the 20th of August. This will be time for Clare to rest and sort out her gym program for the coming Australian season. Many thanks to Charter Mason for their help, the kids and I really appreciate it. Regards Bob Kelly
